A recipe for the perfect Christmas (hamper)

We've jumped over to greenspoon where we have an incredible selection of goodies, and put together our top hamper selections just for inspiration!

I'd love to do a snazzy quiz that will allow you to filter out anything your recipient doesn't like, but we'll get there. Bear with us! So for the time being, we are putting together our absolute favourite hamper combinations, just as a way of inspiring you and giving you some ideas for that lucky person who is lined up to get a GreenSpoon Hamper!

The Cheese Lover's Hamper

Take a selection of cheeses; we recommend Brown's Buttery Brie, which is certainly enough for a few people or a family of four; Delia's Blue which is Delia Brown's latest creation for the cheese board - a hard, veiny blue that has real punch, Potted Brie - perfect when warmed in the oven and served with charcoal crackers and a dollop of Jars of Goodness Rosé Wine and Peppercorn Jelly. Add in a hard cheese such as Brown's Limuru Cheddar and you have a winning cheeseboard for the cheese lover. Finally, a bottle of red (we recommend the Trumpeter Malbec or the Parker Favourite Son Cabernet Sauvignon), a box of cheese biscuits and some butter, and voila!

The Chocolate Lover's Hamper

This person is a breeze to buy for: anything with chocolate is a winner. Give them an indulgent hamper with bars of Absolute Chocolate, Mama Chocolat's delicious chocolate fondues, Delia's chocolate ice-cream, Bbrood's delicious chocolate chip cookies, and a bottle of chocolatey Hesketh Regional Selection Barossa Valley Shiraz.

The Carnivore's Hamper

One for carnivore; we recommend a mixture of delicious cuts and meats to keep them happy for weeks to come! Try WHB Ribeye Steak, our farm duck from Olerai in Naivasha, some delicately cured gravadlax, holistically bred pork bacon and chops, and chicken wings to keep them happy. Add mustard, and grilled pineapple chutney and pair with a good bottle of wine and you have a winner!

The Epicure's Hamper

There's a foodie amongst us all! Satisfy their foodie desires by pushing them a little further this year, and giving them gifts they may not automatically know what to do with! Start with some interesting spices - Sumac, and Za'atar, and then add Vanilla Extract, single estate Rongo Coffee, Blueberries, Brown's Buttery Brie, Sukuma Wiki crisps, raw honey, carissa berry jam and pineapple cider vinegar.

The Health Freak's Hamper

This person is going to love the goodies you put together for them! In your hamper, we recommend spirulina capsules, Moringa powder, baobab powder, chili baobab jam, Mega Omega Granola, Super 3 Seed Granola, Apple Cider Vinegar, Turmeric Powder, Sukuma Wiki Crisps, Coconut Oil, Chia Seeds and Booch.
